Out With the Old, In With the New

After nearly 6 years, I have made the difficult decision to leave Redfin. It's no hard feelings, Redfin, you were a great home for me for a very long time, but it is time to move on. This decision was one of the hardest ones I have ever made, but the change needed to happen. I learned so much while at Redfin, and grew immensely as an agent. In my 5+ years at Redfin, I helped nearly 400 clients, and sold nearly $250 million of real estate. I was consistently the #1 agent in West Seattle, and in the top 5 of listing agents in Seattle and top 10 in all of King County. I shined like a diamond. Yet, I knew the market was shifting, and I didn't want to have to work 24/7 anymore to make a decent salary. I didn't want to have to sell 85 homes in a year to give my kids a good life. I wanted to work less and spend more time with my babies.

So, I decided to make the bold move to leave a cushy salaried job and branch off on my own. At Compass, my business is mine. I have the freedom to control the process from start to finish, the opportunity to be more hands-on with my clients, and the time to spend more one-on-one with each client, allowing me the chance to really get to know my clients better. It's hard to do all of that when you are closing 10+ deals some months (I sold 19 one month, which is crazy pants).

Compass is also a technology company, who has amazing tools to make the home buying and selling process easier for my clients. Compass is a nationwide company, with rockstar agents all over the country ready and willing to help my clients who are moving out of state. I also was invited to be a part of an amazing networking group made up of some of the best Compass agents in the company (more on that later).

This was a scary step for me. I am a single mom with no one to lean on. But, the Universe was giving me all the signs that this was the right step for me. I made some great friends at Redfin and created some amazing memories, and if for some reason, Compass doesn't work out, Redfin would gladly take me back, which is reassuring. But, I am here to say the scariest moves are usually the best ones, so I am confident this is the move I needed to take my business, and my life, to the next level.

I look forward to helping many more clients buy and sell homes not only in Washington State, but also nationwide! My vision is big, and I look forward to sharing more with you very soon!

In the meantime, who do you know who is looking to buy or sell real estate? Please send them my way, and reach out with any questions, about real estate or just about life. I would love to hear from you!
